How do you get Nen in Beyond Nen?
Pass the Hunter Exam, follow Activate Nen to Rohan in the Nen Cave, buy a Meditation Mat from the village merchant, finish the meditation prompt, and return. The first Hatsu is a roll, not a picker.
Beyond Nen how to get Nen: Hunter Exam, librarian, Rohan in the Nen cave, a Meditation Mat, the meditation prompt, then a random Hatsu. Place 6016716328.
Rohan, meditation mat, random Hatsu.

Beyond Nen how to get Nen on Place 6016716328 (Beyond Nen) is a quest, not a character-create toggle. Pass the Hunter Exam, listen to the librarian, find Rohan in the Nen Cave, place a Meditation Mat, finish the meditation prompt, and read the Hatsu the game hands you.
The experience has been live since November 6, 2026. The license is the path that also opens Hunter missions. The mat and Rohan are what actually turn Nen on. Play on Roblox. Checked November 8, 2026.
| Step | Where | Done when |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Librarian | Level 10. Walkthroughs show this NPC listing three routes | You know the exam is the license path |
| 2. Hunter Exam | Main menu. Four stages | License in hand. Stages: Hunter Exam |
| 3. Marker | Press P after the exam. Activate Nen | The cave is highlighted |
| 4. Rohan | Nen Cave. Middle of the map, right of the village | He asks you to meditate |
| 5. Meditation Mat | Village merchant near spawn | The mat is in your inventory |
| 6. Prompt | Place the mat. One clear filled a 10/10 bar. Hit letters only if the prompt prints them | The bar or the QTE completes |
| 7. Return | Back to Rohan | Nen unlocks. Read the Hatsu name. E and G work |
| Checked | November 8, 2026 | Re-read the mat prompt if your client draws letters instead of a bar |

Three routes show up as soon as someone explains Nen. The route this page plans is the Hunter Exam, then Rohan. It is the only one that also matches the official license and Hunter missions. The other two can turn Nen on in some recaps. They leave you without that license, and one of them can punish a failed try.
Use the exam when you want the account the rest of the game is built around. Use the table when a friend offers to “just open your nodes” or when a popup announces aura-node masters. Say no to the friend until you have read the failure line. The masters are a grind with a spawn popup, not a shorter exam.
| Route | What recaps agree | What you do not get |
|---|---|---|
| Hunter Exam, then Rohan | License plus the Activate Nen quest. Main path | A Hatsu at character create |
| Seven aura-node masters | Talk to all seven, then Rohan. A popup announces a spawn | The Hunter License. Spawn timer conflicts: 45 minutes in one recap |
| Another player opens your nodes | About a 3% success in two recaps. Talent name Way of Nen | The license. One recap: a failed try can corrupt your aura or cut Nen stats |
| Character create | Not an unlock | Nen. The toggle is not there |
Walkthroughs that already had Nen from another route still sat the exam later, because they wanted the soft-lock and mission benefits. Those extra benefits are Unverified and live on the Hunter Exam page. What is stable is the order after a fresh account: exam, mat, Rohan. The librarian is who spells the three routes out, which is the next stop.
At level 10, one walkthrough walks up to the librarian and gets the three-route speech: pass the Hunter Exam, talk to all seven aura-node masters, or have a Nen user open your nodes. Public recaps do not print a verified town name for that NPC. Talk to them once so you hear the routes in the game’s own words, then queue the exam from the main menu.
That same recap says the exam appears as a popup or on the main menu about every 4 hours once you are level 10. Other exam passes say the top of each hour. The conflict is written on the exam page. Do not let it change the unlock order. You still need the license before Activate Nen is the quest this page follows.
Rohan is the cave NPC who asks for meditation and then teaches Nen. The librarian is the earlier explanation. If you meditate before anyone has asked, you are early. If you are hunting the librarian inside the cave, you are late. Finish the exam, then follow the marker. The cave section is the walk those markers describe.
The librarian conversation and the exam button show up together in that recap. Exam passes still tell you to get stronger before you queue, because Zevil Island and the 1v1 are player fights and Trick Tower has a boss. How to get Nen in Beyond Nen does not get faster by dying in stage 3. Level on the island, then sit the exam. Rohan will still be in the cave when you have the license.
After the license, press P. One pass says the tracker grows an Activate Nen marker. Follow it. The NPC at the end of that marker is Rohan, inside the Nen Cave. Walkthroughs place that cave in the middle of the map, right of the village, straight out of the beginner village until the cave mouth. If your quest text highlights a door, enter that door.
Talk through Rohan’s lines until he tells you to meditate. One clear describes a long chain of confirms before that ask. Keep pressing the talk prompt. He does not hand you Nen on the first sentence. When the meditation objective is up, leave the cave. The mat is back at the village merchant, not in Rohan’s inventory.

The same cave has Shin. He is the NPC one walkthrough uses when a second player taps your aura nodes for the Way of Nen talent. That is the 3% route, not the meditation quest. Talk to Rohan for the mat objective. Talk to Shin only if you already understand you are gambling a node-open and that a failed try is described as aura corruption. Most accounts should walk past Shin.
If the merchant is still on your P tracker near spawn, buy the Meditation Mat before you hike. One order is “Rohan asks, then you shop.” Another is “shop first, pass the exam, follow the marker, talk to the highlighted NPC.” Both end at the same two objects: a mat you own, and Rohan asking for meditation. Owning the mat first saves the round trip. The prompt itself is the next section.
The Meditation Mat comes from the merchant in the starter village. Open P, select the merchant near spawn, choose Buy, and scroll to the mat. Walkthroughs place that shop near spawn on the tracker. If the row is missing, you are in the wrong NPC’s shop. Weapons and ores are not the mat.
Equip the mat, place it, and meditate. The clear that shows the shop then waits until a bar reads 10/10, and it says the same action is how you earn meditation experience for Nen techniques later. Return to Rohan after the bar fills. He teaches Nen at that point. The unlock in that pass is automatic once you are back — there is no second shop.

| Prompt you see | Do this | Do not |
|---|---|---|
| Buy list with a Meditation Mat | Buy it. Equip it from the inventory | Buy a weapon cosmetic and call it the mat |
| A fill bar, such as 10/10 | Stay on the mat until it completes, then return to Rohan | Cancel at 4/10 and talk to Shin |
| Letters on screen (a QTE) | Press the letters the prompt prints, in that order | Memorize a combo from a different account. This page has not seen a fixed string |
| A key hint that says meditate | Press that key. This guide’s default name for the prompt is T | Rebind randomly mid-prompt. If your card prints another key, the card wins |
| No mat in the shop | Confirm the merchant near spawn, not a cave NPC | Assume Nen is locked forever |
Older notes describe the meditation step as a letter QTE on T. The full unlock pass that buys the mat shows a 10/10 bar and the words “equip this and meditate.” It does not print a letter sequence. If your client draws letters, hit those letters. If it draws a bar, fill the bar. Either one is the meditation objective Rohan gave you. Inventing a string from someone else’s recap is how you fail a QTE that was never yours.
Meditation experience is also how technique bars move once Nen exists. The mat is not a quest item you delete for inventory space. You will place it again for Nen techniques. Finish this first 10/10, walk back to Rohan, and only then open the skill tree. The thing he gives you is a Hatsu you did not pick from a list.
Rohan’s completion turns Nen on and gives you a first ability. No walkthrough shows a picker. Treat it as a random Hatsu: open the ability menu and read the name the game rolled. Match that name on the Nen abilities table before you spend more Spins trying to “fix” it. Affinity still decides which abilities make sense later. The six types are on Nen affinities. A Hatsu you rolled in Customize before this quest was already waiting on this unlock. It did not skip Rohan.
The same session opens the combat keys that were dead weight on Whale Island. E is the Nen technique menu. G is Nen charge. M opens the skill tree: combat style, Nen ability, Nen skills, Nen techniques. One tree asked for ranks such as mission mastery two and transmutation mastery four before a node would buy. Read the requirement. A demo that used Rising Sun is one player’s roll, not a shopping list.
| Control | After Rohan | Before Rohan |
|---|---|---|
| E | Nen technique wheel | Empty or locked |
| G | Nen charge | No pool worth charging |
| M → skill tree | Ability, Nen skills, techniques | Combat style only, if that |
| Mat | Meditation EXP for techniques | Quest item you still need to buy |
| Spins on abilities | A reroll you can actually use | A Hatsu that sits idle until this quest |
The Nen stat is Nen damage and reserves. It was a weak spend before this unlock. After the roll, points in Nen match the Hatsu you can now fire. Weapon points still feed the weapon you used to pass the exam. Leave a combat-style dump for later if you are still learning the E wheel. Nodes that ask for meditation experience are the reason the mat stays equipped.
Way of Nen is a talent from the player node-open, not the random ability Rohan teaches. Hunter missions are the license reward, not a technique. If the ability menu is blank after Rohan congratulates you, talk to him again and confirm the meditation objective is complete. Then look at E. The last section is the shortcuts that try to replace this whole chain.
Skip a character-create Nen toggle. It is not on the slot screen. Skip paying a stranger to open your nodes if you want the license, and skip it even more if you only heard “3%.” Two recaps use that rate. One says a failed attempt can corrupt your aura. Another says a failed try can apply negative Nen stats. The talent on a success is Way of Nen, and what that talent changes beyond the name stays TBA. Shin, in the Nen Cave, is where that transfer is offered. He is optional. He is a bad first NPC.
Seven aura-node masters are real enough to recognize: a popup when they spawn, then a visit to each, then Rohan. One recap says 45 minutes between spawns. Another account of the same system said 30. Trust the popup. Do not build an alarm. That route still does not print a Hunter License. How to get Nen in Beyond Nen without the exam is a different account plan. This page’s plan is the license, the mat, and Rohan.
Nothing outside Roblox types the meditation prompt for you. A loader that promises “auto Nen” wants an account, not a Hatsu. Redeem Spins only in Customize, from the strings on codes. New strings, when they exist, show up through Discord (discord.gg/beyondnen), then on that table.
Gladiator, the Volcanic Domain boss, and a pile of mastery nodes can wait until E and G do something. The beginner guide already told you to ignore them in hour one. They stay ignore-until-Rohan. When the Hatsu name is readable, the abilities page is the next lookup, not another unlock quest.
Next: read the rolled name on Nen abilities, then the six types on Nen affinities.
Still need the license: the four stages are on the Hunter Exam page. First session order: beginner guide.
Pass the Hunter Exam, follow Activate Nen to Rohan in the Nen Cave, buy a Meditation Mat from the village merchant, finish the meditation prompt, and return. The first Hatsu is a roll, not a picker.
Two other routes show up: seven aura-node masters, or another player opening your nodes at about a 3% success. Neither grants the Hunter License. A failed player-open can corrupt your aura in one recap.
In the Nen Cave: middle of the map, right of the village, straight from the beginner village. The P tracker highlights him after the exam.
The merchant near spawn. Press P, open Buy, and scroll to the mat.
If the prompt prints letters, press those letters. The unlock pass that shows the mat uses a 10/10 bar and does not print a fixed combo. T is the name this guide uses when the prompt says meditate. Your key card wins if it differs.
No picker is shown. Read the Hatsu name after Rohan finishes, then check Nen abilities.
E opens Nen techniques. G charges Nen. M opens the skill tree. They stay quiet until this quest is done.
